Find Hill County Booking Photos

A mugshot of a released Hill County inmate is tied to a booking, not proof of current custody or the outcome of a case. Hill County does not publish an official release-photo gallery. A Hill County booking photo may instead be requested from the sheriff, appear briefly in a current-custody app, or surface through a limited official registry or event report. This site does not host mugshot galleries. The safest search starts with the correct booking and confirms identity, custody change, and court disposition through separate official records.

Hill County Released Mugshot Records

A booking photograph records appearance during a specific arrest and intake. Release does not rewrite that event, yet it often removes the person from a live custody view. The photograph, booking sheet, release entry, and court disposition are distinct records. A photo cannot show whether a charge was dismissed, whether the person was acquitted, whether a sentence ended, or whether another agency took custody.

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to existing public information held by government bodies, subject to exceptions. Hill County has not published a categorical promise that every booking photograph will be released. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, medical, security-sensitive, or otherwise protected material may be withheld. A focused request should invite redaction and ask for the public remainder.

Read the record in context: A booking photo proves neither guilt nor present custody. Match it to the booking and case before drawing conclusions.

Where Hill County Mugshots Appear

The best channel depends on the custody system and whether the person is still listed. No official Hill County website-based release feed with photos was found. The county jail page routes custody checks to VINELink, while the sheriff's records process is the durable route for a specified booking.

VINELink can help confirm a named county custody change, but Hill County has not published a stable field list or photo promise for that system. Use the actual booking record when the image itself is the goal.

Hill County Sheriff App Limits

The official Hill County Sheriff TX app is a real local channel. Store copy lists public-safety news, tips, sex-offender information, and staff directory functions. It does not promise mugshots, a released tab, a release date, or post-release photo retention. Local reporting describes inmate information as a real-time roster of current inmates.

A person may therefore disappear when custody ends. That absence does not prove release, and it does not establish the time, type, or destination. Check VINELink, ask for the sheriff's release record, and inspect the court case. The Hill County 24-hour release process explains why a current roster cannot be renamed as a recent-release list.

The app listing shown below confirms the local product and publisher context.

Request a Hill County Booking Photo

The most reliable path is a written request to the Hill County Sheriff's Office for the photograph attached to a named booking. Send it to hcsoopenrecords@co.hill.tx.us or mail it to the sheriff at 406 Hall Street, Hillsboro, Texas 76645. The county open-records page explains that requests belong with the department maintaining the record.

  1. Give the full name and date of birth if known.
  2. Add the approximate booking date, booking number, and case number.
  3. Ask for the public portion of the booking photograph and related booking sheet.
  4. Request electronic delivery and invite lawful redaction.
  5. Ask for an itemized estimate before costs exceed a stated amount.

A request must seek an existing record. The county need not create a new image, explain what it means, or assemble a report that does not exist. Section 552.221 requires prompt production, but Texas law does not set one fixed turnaround for every request. Consult the sheriff's current fee list before assuming a charge.

The Hill County release-record path shows how to request the release date, release type, booking number, bond data, and destination with the photo.

Hill County News and Old Photos

A sheriff press release or local news report can preserve a photograph connected to one event. It may remain online after custody ends. The publication date is not the release date, and the image does not establish current status. Confirm the booking with the sheriff and the case outcome with the Hill County court portal.

Commercial mugshot publishers and data aggregators may also surface old images. They are not official custodians and are not linked here. Their entries may omit dismissals, transfers, release details, or later court orders. Never pay a removal service based only on a claim that it controls an official record.

TDCJ is another frequent source of confusion. Its current-inmate information can help identify a prisoner, but the no-cost email service expressly says photographs will not be provided. A formal TDCJ public-information request may ask for a photo, subject to exceptions, without any promise that it will be produced.

Hill County Mugshot Removal Rules

Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 109 regulates certain businesses that publish criminal-record information and charge to remove, correct, or modify it. It is not an official booking-photo access law. It does not ban a sheriff from releasing a public photograph, and it does not guarantee removal from every source.

An expunction can require covered agencies to change how records are handled. A nondisclosure order has a different scope. Eligibility and effect depend on the case and Texas law, not on whether a photo vanished from an app. Contact the source that displays an image and supply the controlling order when one exists. Only a court and applicable law determine what must be removed or restricted.

Use restriction: Hill County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency. Mugshot information may not be used for employment, housing, credit, insurance, tenant, or another FCRA-regulated decision.

Hill County Expunction Agency Map

Hill County's 2026 expunction agency sheet names a locally specific set of possible custodians: the sheriff, adult probation, four city police departments, DPS, the Office of Court Administration, prosecutors, and TDCJ where applicable. The list shows why one case may touch several records. It also warns that the list is not exhaustive.

The sheet lists a $350 filing fee plus a possible $25 charge for each agency whose email address is omitted. Those figures describe the local filing process, not a private photo-removal price. Some acquittal-related filings may have no filing fee under the separate civil fee schedule. Clerks cannot decide eligibility or give legal advice.

An empty portal result may reflect spelling, delay, restricted access, expunction, or the wrong court. It does not establish that every copy of an image has been destroyed. The signed order and each custodian's response are the useful records.

DPS Photos After Hill County Release

The Texas DPS registry search supplies a color photograph for people who have an active sex-offender registration duty. It is an official post-custody photo route for that limited group only.

The registry is not a county booking-photo archive and does not provide a general release-date field.

Searches can use name and date of birth or an address and map. A match can support identity and current registration status, but DPS cautions that biographical matching is not positive identification. Fingerprints are the definitive link. People without a registration duty will not appear, even if Hill County once booked them.

Hill County Registry Photo Limits

Hill County's sheriff has a separate local registration role. Local records are forwarded to DPS, and compliance questions may go to soreg@co.hill.tx.us or 254-582-5313 extension 113. That contact can clarify the registration channel, but it is not a route to every jail booking photo. Separate a registry image from the earlier arrest image and jail release record.

A registry result documents an active registration duty and supplied identity data. It does not show everyone released from Hill County custody, establish a release date, or replace the court disposition. Confirm the purpose of each record before comparing photographs.
